A 50-50 raffle supporting Ascanius: The Youth Classics Institute
and the Latin Clubs, chapters of Eta Sigma Phi,
and Greek Organizations of Virginia


Proceeds from this quarter's raffle will directly support:
  • Latin programs for elementary school students in inner city D.C., urban Tidewater Virginia, and central North Carolina
  • Training programs so that high school students can bring Latin into the lives of local elementary schoolers
  • 5 Latin/Classics/Greek life-oriented clubs in Virginia
Eligibility
Only bona fide Latin or Classics Clubs, chapters of Eta Sigma Phi, or college/university Greek organizations in Virginia may participate.
Cost
  • $5 donation for 1 entry
  • $10 donation for 3 entries
  • $25 donation for 10 entries
Prizes
  • 5th prize: set of ancient Roman coins from Ancient Coins for Education; cleaning and identifying them is a great club activity!
  • 4th prize: Synaulia - Authentic Music from Ancient Rome; adds rhythm and spice to your classroom or club events!
  • 3rd prize: $25 gift certificate to the American Classical League’s Teaching Materials and Resource Center; buy useful materials!
  • 2nd prize: authentic toga and tunica set; made by experienced seamstress and educator Brenda Howard!
  • 1st prize: 50% of funds raised from the raffle, after expenses, will be donated to your club!
All winning clubs will receive copies of all published Ascanius lessons, so that they can help bring Latin and Classical Studies to elementary school students in their own areas.

This raffle is being conducted in accordance with Section 18.2-340.23 of the Code of Virginia.
