Ms. Kristen Boose
Assistant Director
Ms. Kristen Boose is a graduate of the University of Virginia, where she was an Echols Scholar and a Classics major. A recipient of the Marian Stocker Award for outstanding work in Latin, she was also a founding member and President of the Classics Club at U.Va. In addition, she was active in the Virginia Senior Classical League and served a term as President. Among her many other activities at the University were the Virginia Women's Chorus and the National Society of Collegiate Scholars. Ms. Boose’s professional memberships include the Classical Association of Virginia and the American Classical League.
As Assistant Director of Ascanius, Ms. Boose helps to coordinate logistics, publicity, public relations, and outreach projects. She spearheads the Latin in a Winter Wonderland and Spring into Latin series of programs. Currently she teaches Latin at Thomas Dale High School in Chesterfield County, Virginia.
Ms. Stuart Davis
Lead Grades 1-2 Instructor, Administrative and Instructional Assistant
Stuart Davis is a kindergarten teacher at Crossroads Elementary School in Norfolk, Virginia. Ms. Davis earned her B.A. (in English) and M.Ed. from the College of William & Mary. Her master's thesis investigated the influence and importance of the Virginia Governor's Latin Academy on the preservation and perpetuation of Latin. For several years she has taught a Latin class for gifted 3rd - 5th graders in Norfolk Public Schools' Summer Academic Enrichment Program. Most recently she helped develop and teach LatinSummer's special curriculum for students in grades 1 and 2.
As Administrative & Instructional Assistant, Ms. Davis contributes to and leads a variety of programs and projects for Ascanius.

Mr. Matthew D. Webb
Director, Workshop for Teachers Coordinator
Mr. Matthew Webb studied Classical Languages and Cultures at the University of Maryland and the American University of Rome. He is the author and editor of numerous publications related to Classics pedagogy, and serves as Immediate Past Chair of the American Classical League's Excellence Through Classics for Elementary and Middle School Levels Committee. Mr. Webb's other professional memberships include the ETC's Exploratory Latin Exam Committee, the Massachusetts Foreign Language Association, and the Classical Association of New England. A recipient of the Outstanding Maryland Classicist Award, Mr. Webb is the founder of the nationwide Medusa Mythology Examination.
As Director of Ascanius, Mr. Webb helps to coordinate faculty development, curriculum design, publications, and workshops for teachers. Additionally, Mr. Webb has taught Latin, both on the elementary and secondary levels, in Maryland's public and private schools. Currently he is pursuing a Master of Arts in Teaching Latin & Classical Humanities degree at the University of Massachusetts.
